about me

A Digital Designer with many skills

I am Marjolein, an enthusiastic digital designer. My versatility is the result of my experiences during my education and work at various communication agencies. I have extensive experience as an all-round (digital) designer at a real estate communication agency, and I am currently employed at a web agency.

Webdesign

Flowcharts, prototypes - I do it all. When I'm creating a new web design, I usually use Adobe XD and/or Figma.

Graphic design

In addition to my digital work, I am also skilled in print design. I have created various magazines, brochures, signs, and posters. Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator hold few secrets for me.

UX Design

For the best user experience, I utilize the Design Thinking method. This method goes through five phases, with the feedback from the end user being taken into account each time.

WordPress

I have always built my own websites. In the past, I used simple CSS and HTML, but nowadays I work with page builders in platforms like WordPress, such as Elementor and Divi. Additionally, I am familiar with other CMS systems, like Drupal, for example.

Misc

Regarding my other digital skills, I am also proficient in using Google Web Designer to create display ads. Additionally, I have designed various online magazines using tools like Foleon. In my free time, I devote a lot of time to photography with my Canon EOS 6D Mark II.

I use Design Thinking as a creative approach for problem-solving, focusing on user needs, iteration, and collaboration.

In my daily tasks, I often create social media posts for platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram.

I prefer to edit photos in RAW format using Adobe Lightroom. I primarily use this program in my free time.
